So here's the deal. I live in Vermont, and Vermont made products are always popular because you city slickers are suckers for leaves changing colors and souvenirs. So . . .
I write poetry. Not all of it's the best, but enough people have told me I'm good that I'm thinking maybe I can make myself some money.
What you may not know is that I like to take pictures as well. I tape and photograph all of the horse shows we attend and like to take scenic pictures as well just for the art's sake. I just don't bother uploading any of them to the net, since I've got them stored or printed.
What I'm thinking is that I could start my own line of Vermont-made greeting cards and framed scenes with verse captions and sell them to the tourists. I've even got my own little trademark stamp already cut, and plan to hand-stamp the back of everything.
So here's the question:
Am I out of my mind or what?

No, I don't think you're out of your mind. You pointed out very good reasons as to why this would work and they appear to be a solid foundation for at least further research into it.
You'd be out of your mind if you said, "Should I start a home-made greeting card company that will rival Hallmark within two quarters?"
Yeah, that'd be insane.
